Our NeuroSilver bake sale was a huge success — we surpassed our fundraising goals thanks to the incredible support of our volunteers and community. Special thanks to Amanda Jiang, Kavin Kansal, and all our dedicated sellers who made the day a sweet celebration of intergenerational connection!

This fall, we’re launching a vibrant lineup of intergenerational programs—including a county-wide student concert, a new Senior Sports initiative, and recurring tech support at local senior centers. Beloved programs like Crafty Companions and Story Circles will also return, making this season one of connection, creativity, and community.

Bringing a brilliant end to our first workshop series, Crafty Companions finished with a creative pet collage art project session, bringing smiles, creativity, and meaningful connections. A new volunteer joined in the fun, and everyone is excited for more memorable moments this fall!

At our latest Crafty Companions session, seniors and volunteers connected through meaningful conversations while creating beautiful beaded bracelets. The event was made even more special by welcoming two new volunteers and a senior, making it a joyful escape from daily routines.

In this week’s session, seniors and teen volunteers came together to create felted flower crafts, while welcoming new faces and building new connections. The growing excitement around the program—and the upcoming launch of Story Circles—fosters joy and community which these intergenerational moments are for.

At North Potomac Senior Center, we kicked off our Crafty Companions program with a heartwarming rock painting event, welcoming seven enthusiastic seniors. From a cherry tree and colorful mandalas to the Chinese character for longevity, each rock told a unique story.
